OUR COMMUNITY
Founded in 1879, Elsberry is a quaint small town with a population of roughly 2,000. Rich in natural resources, Elsberry is prime territory of hunting, fishing, bird watching, and outdoor recreation of all kinds. You can put in at the Hamburg Ferry Access and enjoy a trip up or down the Mississippi River, visit B. K. Leach Memorial or Prairie Slough conservation areas or drive up the road to check out the Clarence Cannon National Wildlife Refuge named after Elsberry's most famous son and the longest-serving member of the US House of Representatives from the great state of Missouri, who served from 1923 until his death in 1964. Elsberry also is home to the 18-hole Sun Valley Golf Course, the historic Senate Theater, a number of restaurants and shops, the Forrest Keeling Nursery, and, among other local events, plays host to the Lincoln County Old Threshers Association gathering the third weekend in September of each year.
Spend just a little time in our community and you'll see just why we believe Elsberry is a great place to call home!
