Mother Nature sure had a lot to say on January 24th, causing us to reschedule our Annual Event to the next weekend. It was still cold, but the roads were clear as we hosted those who could make it. We started out the night with 3 Rounds of Trivia and multiple attendance prizes. Dinner was served by the Elsberry FFA. Delicious fried chicken with sides and some great desserts. Our Community Awards followed with the Winners being Woman of the Year-Nikki Couch, Man of the Year-Justin Bange, Business of the Year-Impact Fitness, Nutrition and Community Center, and Educator of the Year-Kelly Morrissey. Finishing up the night, we had our Annual Meeting. We discussed the previous year's accomplishments and what we look forward to accomplishing in 2026.

Saturday December 6th was our Small Business Saturday. Originally scheduled for November 29th, it was postponed due to a large accumulation of snow. Tickets were handed out at participating locations during the day. The business who gave out the most tickets was awarded a Yeti Cooler with a value north of $250! Congratulations to Penrods, LLC. The tickets collected were then put together. Our winning Customer was Lee Evans! Lee was also given a Yeti cooler. Thank you to everyone who participated in giving a small economic boost to our community!

Each quarter, we pick a local business who is an #ECGA member and host a Cash Mob. The endeavor is meant to bring a mini-economic boost to the winning business. We commit to spend $20each on the day and hold a prize drawing for any customer participating. This quarter the winner was Forrest Keeling Nursery. During the event they held a great sale on items and our Winner of the drawing received $70 CASH! Nancy told us that Forrest Keeling is her happy place and the people in the Garden Center are great help! Congratulations Nancy and Forrest Keeling!!

At the February Board of Directors meeting ECGA president, Sam Byers, had the honor of installing two members as directors: Angie Currie with The Currie Roots Mercantile and Hank Wylie with Southern Grace Coffee! Congratulations to both of them on being selected to help guide the ECGA in it's mission to promote and preserve the Elsberry community as a great place to call home!
